U.S. Treasury Brings $1 Billion Display To Atlanta

It won't cost a cent to see a billion bucks -- including $100,000 bills -- at the American Numismatic Associations' National Money Show in Atlanta's Cobb Galleria Centre, April 7 - 9, 2006. Two of the five-known 1913 Liberty Head nickels will be exhibited, including the previously missing $2 million coin that made international headlines after it was unsuspectingly kept in a closet for 41 years.we even get to bring back the past because, There will be demonstrations of an antique, one-ton, hand-operated U.S. Treasury Dept. printing press that was used to print paper money 150 years ago.“Money is history you can hold in your hands,” said William H. Horton Jr., President of the American Numismatic Association. “We’ll have thousands of collectors and dealers from around the country, buying and selling items ranging in value from a few cents each to $1 million; from ancient money to just-minted Euros. There are educational seminars, exhibits, and a children’s treasure hunt with free prizes. You can see everything from a half-cent to a $100,000 bill, and it’s free.”Heritage Galleries & Auctioneers of Dallas, Texas will conduct a multi-million dollar public sale of coins and currency, including a collection of rare gold coins struck at the Dahlonega, Georgia Mint in the mid 1800s.
