Florida Plane Crash
Breaking News: Melbourne Plane CrashShortly before 11:00 a.m. this morning, a twin-engine plane crashed and three passengers are confirmed dead directly behind 270 East Drive, Melbourne.
A twin-engine plane had departed earlier today from Craig Airport of Jacksonville, Florida, and was in final approach to the Melbourne Airport when it crashed for unknown reasons.
As a result of the plane crash, several small brush fires were ignited, and Brevard County Fire Rescue and Melbourne Fire Department are on scene distinguishing the fires. All fires have been reported out.
As of 12:00 noon, both East Drive and West Drive, Melbourne, are closed to vehicle traffic while emergency personnel secure the crash scene.
The identities of the victims are unknown, and the case is under investigation by the sheriff's office homicide unit, FAA and NTSB.
